A bit about Emily

Emily Bachert is the owner of Harmonic Connections and an established board-certified music therapist in Lawrence, Kansas. She has a passion to provide services to all who may benefit from music therapy. Being born and raised in Lawrence, to obtaining her master’s degree in music therapy at KU, Emily takes great pride in serving and giving back to the community she has been a part of her whole life. Her expertise spans years with a variety of populations including, but not limited to, clients with: intellectual disabilities, autism, behavioral disorders, physical disabilities, mental health difficulties, Alzheimer's/dementia, Parkinson's, wellness concerns, and individuals in palliative care. Emily believes strongly in the client/therapist relationship; working alongside the client to help them reach their desired goals, and that rapport is essential to this process. This philosophy is the foundation on which Emily offers her services.

In addition to her clinical skills, Emily is a versatile musician and teacher. She holds a Bachelors of Music in Clarinet Performance from the University of Kansas and nineteen years experience of teaching privately. Other musical endeavors include coaching small chamber ensembles, instructing music classes, and assistant teaching middle school band. Within her private music studio, Emily provides adaptive music lessons, incorporating her clinical knowledge with music instruction.
